Inside a hexagram entry
Each entry includes the hexagram, Chinese name and pinyin, with separate sections for Symbolism, Meaning, Judgment and the six lines.
One entry, several ways to study
- Symbolism
- The arrangement of the figure and its traditional images.
- Meaning
- A contemporary explanation of its themes.
- Judgment
- A separately labeled paraphrase of the statement for the whole hexagram.
- Line explanations
- An explanation for each line, numbered from the bottom upward.
Register and confirm your email to open the full library. This preview shows how each entry is organized.
See how a reading fits together
Follow the steps taught in the course using a fixed example. New coin throws are available inside the course.
What should I consider before starting a new project?
Bring a question
Learn to ask a focused question and separate known facts from assumptions.
Cast three coins
Each throw supplies one line. Six throws build the figure from the bottom upward.
Recognize the figure
The course shows how the six lines identify a hexagram and lead to its text.
Notice changing lines
Fixed example: changing the solid bottom line of Return to a broken line produces The Receptive. The lessons explain how changing positions affect what is read.
Read with context
Learn which passage to read, then explain how that passage relates to the situation.
Keep and review the reading
My Study saves the original reading and keeps later observations in separate dated reviews.
